How do I get myself fired?

I cannot take more than 15 vacation days in a row

Wait. What? WHAT? There are so many things about this sentence that have me baffled beyond words. I was totally with you about trying to get money out of leaving a toxic work environment, until I read this sentence.

You're saying that you CAN take three weeks of vacation?!

I don't understand. That is... insane. At my last job, I got NO TIME OFF. Zero vacation days. Zero sick time. Nothing. If I wanted or needed to stay out of work for illness or a vacation/break, I was 100% unpaid. And I knew that if I was out too many consecutive days, there would not be a job for me when I went back. And I'm not even talking about working retail - I'm a software analyst! I worked in an office and had a cubicle and everything!

...and you're complaining... not that you don't have more time off (maybe you do, maybe you don't), just that you can't take it back-to-back for more than three weeks?

Ok. I'm going to calm down and reply with kindness and understanding. You are unhappy. No one is going to do their best work when they are unhappy. Fine. You want a better job; keep looking. I certainly wouldn't quit without a new job lined up. As for "getting fired"... that is a fine line to toe. Depending on where you live/work, you have the potential to be fired without cause and receive no severance. You could also get caught trying to get fired and be fired FOR cause and receive no severance. I would not suggest playing with fire. If it were me, I would keep my head down, do what was required of me, continue looking for new employment opportunities, and just try to suffer through it until you can leave on good terms. (That is actually what I did at my last job. I don't recommend burning bridges, or forcing other people to burn them for you [literally and/or metaphorically].)

Maybe you could start strategically using this abundance of days off; take off every other Monday so you have regularly scheduled long weekends. It won't solve your problems, but it may help give you some peace of mind. OH! Or if you can break up those "days off" into hours... leave an hour early every other day (or come in an hour later). And I guess... good luck.
