How nice of a car can I afford?

There's a balance between living your life and being in a smart financial position. We could always make the right choice and wouldn't it be great if we did, but that's not human nature. Still, you can get what you want in a smart way without blowing your budget. A brand new legit sports car probably blows your budget.

You don't want a boring Honda sedan? I feel you. Maybe a Mini Cooper S feels enough like a sports car to get the job done. That's not an outrageously expensive car and I will testify that it drives fast and hard. The expense of the vehicle itself isn't that bad (you can pick up a used one in good condition for not a ton of money) but you will have to pay BMW maintenance costs so be prepared for that. A Mazda might be another option. You can find something that is SUPER fun to drive, something that has a sports car feel, without blowing so much money that it pains you to think of it.
