Make merit (good deeds), practice meditation and purify the mind (through meditation).
Keep mindfulness as a base, because mindfulness blocks negative emotions, like a shield.
If you do this throughout your life eventually you won't need to worry about stuff like 'karma' anymore.
You will be strengthening, maintaining and making overall progress in skilfull qualities, you stop caring about things like 'karma'.
Life is karma for the unenlightened beings.
