How to not feel angry that I can’t protect myself from Covid

I'm right there with you. Luckily we live in an area without many Covid-19 cases. BM has been going on multiple vacations locally and not wearing masks despite her having a preexisting condition. Her behavior leaves SD confused about why the mask rules are different between houses.

We had a scare last weekend because SD was coughing and sneezing on Friday, so SO had to get her tested. We were all self-isolating and wearing masks indoors, and SO told me I was acting stressed. Yes, yes I am stressed that I have lived as a shut-in for seven months, working from home and wearing masks everywhere, but that doesn't matter because of his ex-wife! Brilliant observation, SO!

Fortunately SD tested negative, but as I sit here having contracted her cold, much worse than she or her dad had it, I am still pissed that this could easily have been Covid-19. Oh, and SD goes back to school full time next week.

I've resigned myself to the reality that there is nothing I can do to shrink my bubble short of moving out, which I will consider if the numbers here start going up again.
