How Do You Not Let What Others Say/Do Affect You?

Studying Stoicism can be very valuable and enriching. That said, I think you should do what I did a couple of years ago when I was feeling overwhelmed and worried about my mental state: tell your doctor. In my case, my doctor put me on a couple of medications for a while. Then, I was sent to consult with a social worker who set me up to take a stress management class. I never got into one-on-one therapy, but we did explore that option. The class was not group therapy per se, but we did stress management exercises and learned about the mechanisms of stress and anxiety, and the basics of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (which I found to be not unlike the philosophy of Stoicism). Best of luck to you, be kind to yourself, and remember that seeking help is not a weakness, it’s a strength.
