How old are you, and what's the best piece of advice you have for someone 10 years younger than you? What question do you have for someone 10 years older?

Although this is good advice it doesn’t apply to everyone. I am 27 (feel 35...honestly, at least twice in the last month I’ve actually had to calculate my age), some of you may be horrified by that but I think it’s really up to the individual. I went to college ON MY OWN DIME- no parental help. I applied to jobs in January of my senior year and actually started working prior to graduating. Not because I wanted too, but because I had too. I knew I needed to make at least $50,000 within 3 years of graduation to be sustainable. For the last year I’m making 60,000+ if it weren’t for shunning friends and family I would be left with nothing. I’m now looking at properties. Did it take a mental toll? Yes. Did it cost some friendships/relationships? Yes. Would I do it again? Yes, and I’d cut more people out. Not because I’m money hungry, not because I’m an asshole, but simply because I want comfort, I want a family, and I want my kids to have far more than I ever had. Having my [raising] family rely on me is no use to my ultimate goal. Tough shit, you didn’t make the sacrifices I did, and you made little to no sacrifices for me. Tough shit, sacrifice and get yourself ahead, don’t look to please others.
