How has online dating worked for you?

I posted on r/r4r in June 2018 after trying many different apps and sites. I'd never had problems finding guys who were interested in me on those apps but I just didn't really feel right with them. So I just dated here and there for fun until I reached my 30s. I felt like dating apps were like people shopping and I felt so superficial swiping based on looks. When I read some posts on r4r, I said "well, why not?". I posted exactly what I wanted and didn't want (such as how he must have a solid job, reliable transportation, education and he must not hate dogs, etc) and was super blunt about it since I was not posting a photo of myself. I got nearly sixty replies but there was one that stood out to me. This dude really put a lot of thoughts and energy into the reply he sent me and he sounded intelligent and stable. I started to develop feelings for him as we exchanged messages every day. I didn't ask once for photos because I didn't want to ruin this feelings that I was developing and because I was falling for someone for who they really were for once. After almost a month of messaging back and forth, we finally met in person at a brewery. Even though I am terrible with new people and am antisocial, time flew by talking with him and we spent three hours talking there at the brewery. So that was end of June 2018.

Fast forward, we got married in Oct 2019! This is the best relationship I've ever had in my life and he complements my personality so well. We have been living together since then and we are getting along without any problems. My little dog loves him a lot too. We are a happy family! Thanks to Reddit for giving me a wonderful husband!
