My partner and I are in the LS, so we do have threesomes as well as swap with other couples, but we also have an agreement where if we’re away from each other (work, hanging out with friends, etc.) and we meet someone that we’d like to hookup with, we’re allowed to as long as protection is always used.

If you’re interested in the idea of seeing other people, I would just casually bring it up like “I never realized how many people actually have open relationships/see other people until I got on Reddit. I wonder what that must be like for them…?” And just let the conversation go naturally. I’ve used this format on friends and such before just to try and figure out how kinky they are. You can usually tell pretty quickly whether someone is into it or not by how they respond.
