How the Parkland Kids are Misguided

Here's what it seems to me - I don't care if I get downvoted to oblivion. I'll preface this by saying I do in fact lean left politically, for what it's worth.

They say controversial things for publicity. Instead of trying to bridge the divide between Republicans and Democrats and end gun control stalemate, they attack the Republicans. The most prominent example of that is what they say about Ted Cruz - "Cruz took "6 gorillion' dollars for every dead kid!!1!" When obviously if you look at things from a logical perspective, Democrat, Republican, whatever, NOBODY wants kids to die. Democrats and Republicans simply have different ideals about how to protect innocent citizens.

A politician somewhere questions the thought processes of one of the celebrity students? The students threaten to vote them out of office. I'm sure there are rational students at MSD, but of course they're not the ones taking advantage of a tragedy. They're quietly spectating.

Want to promote change and garner support from both sides? Debate RESPECTFULLY. Enough of this namecalling garbage. All the Parkland *survivors are doing is furthering the divide, whether they recognize it or not. And this certainly isn't true about all of them, but for some, it's clear they're milking the tragedy for publicity. Some have even partnered up with entrepreneurs hoping to sell a product, it appears.

Another thing we have to consider is how immature the brain of a high school aged person is. Their ideas are so radical and completely illogical, it really makes you wonder. One would be hard pressed to pick out one thing they can actually accomplish with these protests.

*can we even call them survivors? In a school of 3000, 17 died. I'll leave that designation up to everyone else, I guess.
