How To Pay Off Overwhelming Debt?

I’m sorry, this is probably the wine talking because I’m mindlessly scrolling trying to go to bed so please don’t be so brutal, people of Reddit BUT…like have you divorced this dude yet or are you still going to just like, let him ruin your financial independence and destroy your credit score because he’s “not so good with money”?

I’m sorry but, you seem like a very responsible individual and this dude just sounds like a total train wreck, financially. I get loving someone but at some point, partnership in a marriage is a balance, and unless you signed up to be the breadwinner, you absolutely should know where his money goes and demand help with the finances within your relationship and household because it isn’t fair that you pay HIS debt that HE is accumulating under your name. I get it, love is love and sometimes the person you are with IS your love of your life, their faults aren’t who they are, etc, but like…this dude is literally not just ruining his own life but yours as well. It isn’t your responsibility to TEACH responsibility to a grown ass person and if that person is harming your future then just in my own opinion (I really am not attacking you, truly just what I would do), I really think you should consider your future with this person. If you have kids, is he going to just be like, sorry babe I don’t have money for diapers, or if you guys agree to buy a home together (please don’t because that is going to be only your home because it’s clear you’re going to be the only person paying), can you actually trust this person to be a true PARTNER in life? Idk, I don’t know you, I don’t know any other life details but you should really think about your goals and if this person is going to be there for you, next to you, for you to love and live your best life, or is he going to just be content with the life that, as you’re describing, is barely scraping by?

I’ve been in this situation and it’s hard but you only have one life and time moves fast. Just think of you. Best luck OP ❤️
