The reason I finish stories is due to my readers. I pledge that if I start to post I will complete that story no matter what.

Some have commented and kept reading that makes me want to finish fics.

Because of this I have often started to post because I knew it was the only way the fic would be written.

Secondly, I have come to recognise that in long stories in particular you hit what I call the 'Wall' It seems insurmountable , you lose focus, you've run out of steam and so on, however if you push through then the wall things improve. My last big fiction I got something new 'Sick of it itus' I was literally sick of the entire thing. Because of my pledge to my readers I actually took a week of work to finish it.

Satisfaction. There is a really amazing feeling when you can place a completed on a fic.

A technique I use is to only focus on the story I'm writing. If I'm posting then my focus is on that fic and that fic alone. Its a way of keeping my attention on what is important. Getting the posted fiction finished.
