How to play arpeggios of chords different than the key? [QUESTION]

try to learn about the "caged system". it's an easy way to find arpeggios and scale shapes. it's called caged system because it shows that you can play open chord shapes with barre chords everywhere.

They move up the neck in the order of:

C shape : root note on A string and moves left

A shape : root note on A string and moves right

G shape : root note on E string and moves left

E shape : root note on E string and moves right

D shape : root note on D string and moves right

So you can play a C for example all over the neck. If you learn all the chord shapes and positions you can just play the notes in the chords in sequence and bam you have plenty of arpeggios.

This is a great tool to makes sense of the neck.
