How do I prepare for college writing?

Each college varies when it comes to the workload of college writing courses.

My school has some pretty intense expectations. My first college writing course required 2-3 ~5 page essays and a ~8-10 page research paper.

It varies form professor to professor and it also varies based on the course concentration.

My first college writing class was focused on borders and migration so all the readings were about historical and modern conflicts among border communities. The first two essays were based off of different readings and specific topics but the last research paper was a free write where you are expected to do your own research and choose a specific topic.

Here is a template that I wish I had with me.
