How quickly do you get through a book/series?

So I went through the r/books thread. People over there are blowing my mind. 52 books a year is not an I Am Very Smart type thing. Its reading at the exact adult reading average of 250 words a minute for 90 minutes a day on average. That's like 3 MoBa/Battle Royale rounds, a pretty standard gym workout, etc. And if you are a big hobbyist reader and are at something like 500 words a minute it is even less shocking.

Like if you have 10 other serious hobbies, a long term relationship, and tons of friends plus kids and/or a full time job maybe 52 books a year is hard. Which is fine. We all make time allocation choices, no one has to feel guilty or bad. But to see a sub about reading go so wild like reading 500 words a minute is some sort of crime against humanity? wow.
