Born, raised and living in Argentina right now. As you know, this is a land of inmigrants. I could be waving an Italian, Spanish or Ukrainian flag and I'd still be right about my origin. My ancestors came down here in search for peace, and they built a great nation and a great place to live from scratch. All hardworking people. The country was booming.

Then populism happened. Then we would let any f***in neighbour get in. No background checks, no visas, no inmigration process whatsoever. And that's how my country became a hugely important center for drug trade and smuggling, thanks to the cartels from Peru and Mexico settling in. We have no-go zones in almost every big city. Our northern border is nonexistant. We have lots of criminals coming across the border. They overflow our hospitals, our schools, all of which have deteriorated because of that. We have tons of bolivian, paraguayan and peruvian neighbourhoods, that look pretty much like their own countries and secluded zones. We are importing poverty, importing crime, importing everything that's wrong from those amerindian countries.

Sadly this makes me feel an inmigrant myself. I'll soon begin the process of recognition of my italian citizenship (by ancestry) and we'll set off for Europe. I don't expect ANYTHING for granted, we are actually working our asses off to be qualified enough to access the european scientific market. So that would be it, I'm willing to go through any process of paperwork that a specific country requires me to do, and of course, we'll do our best to blend in, not imposing anything to natives.

So, you want to inmigrate to my country? If you are willing to go through the paperwork and apply for residence, then do it, go ahead. The requirements should be high enough to filter any criminal or demeaning people.

You want to settle with no work, no education, build a slum, settle a drug empire, procreate like rabbits, take all our public services for granted, and build a little version of La Paz, Lima or Baghdad? Fuck off. Contribute to the society. Blend, accept and assimilate the culture. Do not try to convert the country into the shithole you escaped from.
