I had relative pitch and developed it more into perfect pitch.

I always had the ability to hear every song in my head the right pitch and on tune every time without having to hear it first, which I don’t think is that unusual.

In middle school in band I started having relative pitch as I learned the notes. 4 or so notes I could identify instantly just by the way it struck my ear/perception of pitch and led to an internal feeling.

In high school I started training it more and could know all semitones pretty quickly, but couldn’t identify octave without some thinking first.

In college I had to take ear training classes in music and that helped even more.

So I guess I don’t really have perfect pitch but relative pitch and trained it more towards being able to know the pitch by how it made me feel. For example C is happy sounding but G is melancholy. B is like strife, almost reaching the C but not there. It’s like they’re personified almost
