I don't think I've ever asked that, but can easily see myself doing so. For me the answer doesn't change my thoughts on the person in any way, it's more of a curiosity and self choices. I could see myself ask the question if the profession is either really close or FAR from my choices made.

I know everybody has good/bad days/shit they have to deal with. I could never be a nurse, it's just not in my personality. It is so far out of the realm of possibility for me that I'm probably curious if a person whom went down that path likes it. I decided I like you enough to get your opinion or thoughts on the topic. I would imagine my response is "that's cool/sucks" and move on.
