How do I sell people on my game (The Contract)? What's missing?

TLDR: if you want to sell it you need to say more about what the system is. The lack of genre and the name of the system makes me think it’s got something to do with lawyers. I feel like you are trying to sell me a system, not a game. But you’re not even selling a system, just promises of a system.

I’ve finally had time to read your doc. I want to like it, the idea of a purely digital tabletop rpg is intriguing, but I’m not finding anything that ropes me in.

It seems like your biggest feature is this idea you can take characters to other games and maintain game balance. It’s hard to believe without knowing specifics but clearly that was an important part of the design so let’s assume that’s true. Unfortunately it’s not an attractive feature for players who, like me, have a regular group of friends to play with. I don’t have a local game shop to play at and I feel no need to find a game with a bunch of randos on the internet. So it’s not like it’s a harmful feature, it just holds no attraction for me.

So what else do you have?

You don’t have a setting. I mean you don’t even claim a genre. If that’s true, to me that’s a problem. Systems that claim they work for any kind of game are either very simply or require a ton of prep work.

You don’t have predefined classes or powers. I’m not opposed to classless systems. But I wish I knew what that game was rather than what it isn’t.

Then you tell me the players make up everything. That’s a show stopper for my table. That’s a really big problem. Making up stuff is hard and most forever players aren’t interested.

If you can’t sell me on genre or setting, you need to sell me on mechanics. And so far I haven’t seen anything about mechanics. You promised some contextual interface that should be easier to use than a bunch of charts in a book.
