How should I start optimizing this website for keywords that point to "quit the 9 to 5"?

Curiosity—what does go prune mean?

Second question that will help answer your question—what is your goal? In other words, are you looking to just create an informational site or do you have some sort of a conversion goal?

Here's a really watered down starting list for you to get your feet off the ground.

  1. Don't worry about SEO anything and write 10 articles that people would be interested in reading. Need article ideas? Fill in these blanks.
  • How to _________
  • Benefits of ________
  • Why Should I _______
  1. Once you have those articles live and posted, then start looking into "on-page optimization." That's a fancy way of saying your content looks good and is laid out in a way that's good for the reader and makes it easy on the search engines to know what it's about.

  2. Write 10 more articles.

  3. Start focusing on the technical side of your website. Is is user friendly? Is it fast? What are you trying to convert people to do? Get friends to test out your site and read your articles. Ask them what they like and don't like.

  4. At this point, you've at least for 20 articles live! Yay. Now you can start looking into keyword research and trying to identify holes in the search results that you can plug.

  5. ??????

  6. Profit!
