How should I study with Heisig's RTK vol.1?

I really like having a combo here. It can be a huge help to incorporate writing into the stories. (Consistently create the stories based off the radical positions in order from too to bottom, left to right and write them out a few times by hand.)

It can help with remembering the positions of the radicals, which assists with recognition when you start seeing the more complex charaters outside of the context of a flashcard and also when writing them from memory. It makes extremely similar characters more distinct in your mind, too.

Building a strong foundation here really gives you a jump start when switching to reading learning materials. At this point, I only review kanji by being prompted by a fill in the blank vocab card with optional furigana and have to write my guess with the proper stroke order. (Kanjistudyapp)
