How do we solve the problems with nmbs?

Nah it's fine. I was generalising and being unfair. Be as personal as you like.

And yes, I know, we can be filthy entitle ingrate beasts. I wouldnt last a week as treinbegeleider just for the abuse people who know they are in the wrong throw at them. I haven t done most of the things you describe but I plead guilty of seeing treinbegeleiders as servants sometimes. I'm sorry. Thanks for your replies and your commitment to your job. Now fetch my slippers! :)

Just kidding. Oh and no one feels appreciated at their jobs. It's a good thing so many of us love what we do or we'd all stay home.

I do appreciate treinbegeleiders though. More so since a train I was on, hit a person on the tracks. They had to organise the whole thing: emergency stop, requesting medical (well, morticial) assistance, safety procedure, evacuation, all while still reeling from just having heard and possibly seen a person being crushed and dismembered right in front of (and under) them. I'll never forget how it sounded and felt when the body slammed up against the bottom of the carriage (with much more force than i would have expected) and I will never forget the shade of the treinbegeleider's face when he came out of the boot next to the steering post. Young guy still. His face was as gray as his uniform jacket. But he kept composure and took control of the situation and got us all out and onto buses while ambulance personnel took care of the remains of the jumper. So yes, treinbegeleiders have my respect and appreciation. I show it every day by trying my best not to be an asshole on board.

Securail, however, are satan's dingleberries and they have to go.
