How do you stay grateful in your daily life?

The chance of you being born to a hood or bad home is an independent event

Lol what. Yes, manifest destiny. AND being born into slavery or child trafficking is going to give you a different outcome than, say, being born into a wealthy family where you have personal tutors and anything you desire. Do you agree?

The farmer to $10M vanguard - sure. No morality in wealth. Agreed.

I imagine you have at least once had a negative emotion related to something outside your control. Have you not? This is what I believe OP is getting at.

basically praying to a god Nothing about practicing gratitude is religious in my experience. It’s about saying “wow, I’m grateful to the lineman who dispatched late last night to repair the utility pole so my family could have electricity.” And if you counter that with having a generator, perhaps there’s some gratitude to the inventor of the generator, or to the people who installed the generator for you, or the bloke who made the drill so you could install the generator.

I see no downside to recognizing we are community-made and not self-made. It is from the gifts of service that others have made (which I pay for via taxes or thru commerce, or receive as an actual gift) that allow me the life I have. I’m grateful for Steve Jobs and the Reddit team so that I can reply to your comment from my home gym lol. No gods here!
