How to stick to your calorie goal when food is your coping mechanism?

For myself, I just kept testing and evaluating different coping mechanisms until I found ones that worked. It still sometimes goes tits up, but far less often and far less food now that eating less is a habit. Learning to not beat myself up about slip ups and just get back on the wagon has been really important too. For reference, over the past couple years I've tried proper exercise, meditation, alcohol (that's a fucking bad one), yoga, very short lived therapy, repressing my feelings instead, all just bad content that isn't sustainable. Finally settling on healthy things that stick. For me that's going for walks, listening to music, writing down my ~feelings ~, doing artistic shit like playing an instrument/knitting/painting and talking to people I like the company of. Also a massive one, finding out some of the most intensely bingeable foods and not buying them under any circumstances. You will find something that works, it just takes time!
