How stupid/smart are teenagers?

I think it depends on the teenager but unfortunately for them, their world view is limited. That's why so many teenagers seem to think the most important thing is what's happening to them in their highschool at that particular point in time, and that's why they can be so self centered. Most teenagers I've known want to be adults, which I totally understand. They want to be seen as mature, and they want freedom. It's ironic that the most mature kids are actually the humble and respectful so they earn the privilege of freedom by not rebelling against authority. Teenagers are also the least empathetic age group. But it's literally just a phase and they're probably no dumber than anyone else when they were a teen.
