How do I survive?

Most people suck at money even if they're making six figures so no one should be judging you for your decisions. Life happens and not everyone has family wealth or a college degree to fall back on.

I would suggest the book Financial Freedom by Grant Sabatier and the podcast Journey to Launch by Jamila Souffrant. They are really great for teaching you how to make decisions that will only serve to improve your quality of living- how to plan and think in terms of what will bring you and your family the greatest long term happiness.

I know you came seeking Austin-specific advice - my only thought is that Austin is a really expensive city to live in. You may want to consider moving to a neighboring suburb until you can afford to live closer to downtown. Still, it's hard to give specific advice because it really comes down to what you and your family want.

You have the power to turn it around! Wishing you the best of luck.
