I had an instance of one messaging like 8 months later. She just message like "hey, how have you been?"

I gave some light conversation but short of her making some sort of effort to meet up, I really wasn't paying much mind. She seemed really busy with things when we talked and I basically said, "eh, she sounds too busy for dating" and moved on. She worked a lot during the week and I'd ask near the beginning of the week what her plans are for the weekend. After like 4 times in a row where her weekend was already jam packed with activities and other stuff I just stopped trying. I'm not huge on texting conversations unless that's the only option (friends that live far away). So after like a month of texting and her never seeming to have an opening in her schedule, I lost interest.
