How true are the TV Tropes relating to American Lifestyle?

Regarding the cheese question, there are several processed cheese or "cheese-adjacent" products that often get conflated.

Cheese spread dispensed from a pressurized can like OP (and you!) are describing commonly goes by the brand name Easy Cheese. I don't really know how popular it actually is. It's decent on crackers—their packaging also shows it being used on a burger, a hot dog, and a pretzel—and handy if you have to plate up a massive tray of cheese-n-crackers for a get together. Kids in particular like the novelty of how you dispense it. Like you say, it's kind of its own thing, you like it or you don't.

Cheez Whiz is a jarred cheese sauce. It's used on hot dogs, corn chips, and is key in making a Philly cheesesteak.

There's also Velveeta, a solid processed American cheese sold as a block and specifically designed to melt smoothly on sandwiches and in sauces like chili con queso.

There's a classist snobbery that goes on about these products but really they're perfectly fine, and when they're used for the dishes for which they're intended, they're perfect.

Back to OP's question—everybody eats differently but I find the idea of cheese with every meal (much less cheese on every meal) absolutely bananas. In particular I think of the above products as part of neighborhood or family picnics, or snacks at a ball game—definitely not every day eating.
