How were LGBT kids treated at your school?

My young sister goes to the same highschool as mine. And I realized something heartwarming around October, it just made me feel smile. I don't know if you include transgenders in "LGBT"...

Around my time, we had a boy who dressed like a girl, plucked his eyebrows, wore make up, even walked like a lady. This person was really chatty, social and loud; never saw him without a smile on. At some point, echoes said he was finally set to become "Angel", a woman, once he graduated. But the bullying was so bad, so terrible and awful, he was found dead in some dubious bar's toilets. He hanged himself.

My sister has a girl named Alexandra in her class. Alexandra wants to become a man, her parents don't. She says she can't wait to leave and start over. She already dresses like a guy and has short hair. My sister said people were treating her normal, very small amount of people mock her but her classmates are supporting. Alexandra even asked her classmates and teachers to call her "Alex already". And they all do.

It's only been 6 years since Angel died. I was in my first year of highschool when it happened, so is my sister right now. I slightly believe in better days when I think of this.
