How to know when I am taking the right dose?

I guess I represented myself a little incorrectly. I meant more that it’s not about how good I do, it’s how good I feel about my results and decisions. I have an idea of how to perform and improve at all things, but sometimes I make impatient or careless decisions that undermine it all. These increase as time goes on until I’m so frustrated I just quit. I guess I see such a similar pattern in school and video games, where a rapidly increasing impatience to get to the goal sabotages my ability to reach it, that I thought that it could have a similar effect.

I’m more interested in is real improvements in my ability to learn and overcome ADHD symptoms a valid metric for gaging my medication amount, or is medication like adderall a performance enhancing drug and thus deceptive? Most of the articles I’ve reads says that it shouldn’t do anything more than excite and trick non-ADHD people, so honestly I’m thinking that the degree to which it effects my symptoms is a valid metric.
