How would you feel if simeone approached you on the street saying they think you're cute and ask for your number to hang out later?

It actually happened like 3-4 weeks ago. It was almost midnight and I was walking with my best friend when a guy approached us and literally just stopped me, shook my hand and said his name. He said how he can't believe how pretty I am and that he's shocked and that he apologizes, but he just had to let me know. Asked me for my number and I thought it was too personal and I just didn't want to give it to him. He's instagramless. But he ripped of the piece of a notebook and wrote his number on it with his name. He was actually not that creepy and scary as I was used to dudes who were, I had bad experiences with strangers. This guy didn't actually look like he was mental, looked pretty decent; tall, blonde, and extremely well dressed. He asked us if we needed something for the night and we just kindly refused and left, but a number with his name stayed.

Experiences with these kind of stuff are different. There are a lot of bad people with bad intentions out there and personally I experienced it which is why I didn't like this particular experience at all. Someone just coming to you in the middle of the street when your reflexes are slow and you have no idea what could they do to you. Imagine if I was alone and not with my best friend that night. Very creepy of him, but thank god he didn't seem to have any bad intentions. On the other side it kinda boosts your ego. Like thanks now I know that all I have to do is go outside and literally just do nothing for people to fall for me. Pretty weird if you ask me, but this stuff does happen in real life so be careful and carry a pepper-spray. As a woman I really don't feel safe on the streets. Would this be different if he did it in a different setting like bar or club? Absolutely. Coming up to someone on street and possibly startling them is just too personal. I don't condone it. People's genuine intentions are what matters.
