How would you recommend to get better at this game?

Platform fighters like Multiversus are mostly macro based, meaning your decision making is a lot more important than your ability to execute combos. That isn't to say combos aren't important, mind you, cause that's how you deal damage and eventually kill people. It moreso means that playing the game enough to get a feel for how it flows is most important.

Choose any character you like, watch a few tutorials on what their moves and combos are, and practice them in the lab. Once you've got a decent enough grasp of what moves are good, what moves kill, and what your bread and butter combos are, start playing games.

Think of each scenario in a game like a math problem, and your moves and combos like formulas. Sometimes your favourite formula doesn't apply to the question, and sometimes you may use a formula you're more familiar with and not realize there was a better formula that would get you better results. You can only get a feel for that by playing the game and getting experience winning and losing.

If you find yourself hitting a wall against a certain character or playstyle, watch some matches of high ranking players fighting whatever you're having trouble with. See what they do differently from you and ask yourself why what they're doing is working.

Pro players like Void, Nakat and Mirrorman upload great videos to get the basics down, then from there alls ya gotta do is play
