How to write highly intelligent characters - A comprehensive guide

ok so I have some insight into this, and I spent a lot of time debating on whether or not to respond to your post because the thing you said about IQ-brag douchers is super fuckin accurate. so I'll probably get insecure and feel like a douche and delete this, but here we go.

so, supposedly I would fall somewhere under level 2. (insert the part where I get downvoted, because I would downvote me, too.) what you said was really accurate to my experience, and I thought sharing it might be helpful to someone.

first, I don't give a shit about "classical" things unless they really appeal to some theme, emotion, etc. that I relate to (basically like everyone else in existence). I might be more likely to find meaning in something bc I've spent time thinking about it, but idk, because I don't know what it's like to be not me.

I don't know how to play chess. I know I could learn, but it looks boring as fuck and doesn't appeal to me.

people have to really get to know me before they suspect that I'm smart, because I adjust my behavior/manner of speaking to my audience. I just want people to like me and think I'm funny.

what you said about mechanical aptitude and/or extensive knowledge of non-classical things resonated with me hard. I don't know how to describe this, but I can just kinda inherently and almost immediately understand machinery and how things work better than anyone I work with. it's not a conscious analysis or problem solving method, just kind of an instantaneous sense. (I sound like a moron right now, I'm sorry haha) however, this doesn't mean I'd magically know the exact terminology for the components present (unless I've had experience with it).

this was way longer than intended, so im gonna cut it off here. however, I'm down to answer questions/further elaborate on the off chance that anyone wants to read my garbage
