He pays the property taxes and most of the house upkeep/reno and I pay the utilities. We just kind of buy food when we need food. We both swipe cards at grocery stores, I would guess that I buy more food since I do the cooking.

It doesn't matter to us at this point. It's all our bills and all our money, everything gets paid for. It doesn't matter who's check it came out of. It matters that everything got paid for and we have what we need. If one of us is short for some reason, the other makes up for it. We both know that we are both contributing about equally and we both give no fucks about the exact dollar to dollar comparison.

We just have a basic guideline of who pays for what and then regularly check in to make sure everything is ok and we are both able to save and spend as needed.
