How's life treating you? I really want to know!

I never liked working nights; only did that when I had no other option. I chose to work split shifts for years, working both rush hours with anywhere from 1 to 6 hours break in the middle.

Generally speaking, mornings run much smoother than afternoons; I get mostly commuters and students on my bus; and a few tourists after rush hour. I get to drive standard 40 foot and the longer 60 foot articulated buses. We're just experimenting now with 2 double deckers; and they have decided to order 32 double deckers to help replace aging highway buses in 2 years.

We pick our shifts, in seniority order, 4 times a year. We have 6 depots, and I choose to work south of the city. With the Canada Line train line opening in 2009, I rarely ever go downtown anymore; suburban buses now feed the SkyTrain lines for faster service into town.
