How's my Macro doing + What can I start adding to my play?

You definitely still need to focus on macro:

  • Inside the first minute you have already gone about 20 seconds without building a SCV. This is a lot of economy that you are missing out on.
  • You never rallied your SCV to build your depot at the wall and only built it there when you had around 300 minerals. That is really late and is hurting your economy. If you can't do the opening while chatting, then don't chat.
  • You decide to not build your rax as part of the wall, why? It is a bit stronger than the 3 depots if a push comes and also helps wall out scouting (which your opponent got for free).
  • You decided to go for double gas, but didn't really use them for much more than reactors at the beginning. This is seriously cutting into your economy. Those workers could've mined more minerals allowing you to get more production up but instead they are mining unused gas.
  • At the 6 minute mark you had 41 workers, yet you have 3 bases. That isn't even 2 base saturation yet. You should at least have workers in the 50s by that time. Compare your worker count to your opponent's to see how far behind you are.

These macro mistakes cost you the game. You'll see that your opponent's army graph is bigger than yours throughout the game. This is because you didn't get the workers you were supposed to have by that time and thus couldn't produce enough units.

Your gas bank also increased by quite a lot. If your 1200 gas was actually spent minerals, that would've been 20+ extra marines. If you managed to setup your economy properly, you could've rolled him with just marines.

Lastly (and this is really less important), you need to tech up and get better units (marauders, mines, liberators) if you want to easily roll that army. The reason why I say this is the least important is that you were already so far behind because of the macro mistakes that your army composition wouldn't have made a big difference, while having more stuff could've helped more.

Get yourself a build order (learn something like a reaper expand which you can use against all the races) and practice the first 6 minutes of that (against easy AI) until you can get close to the pro that you have copied it from. After that, you can start owning the ladder and improve some more.

GLHF!
