There's obviously a lot more to this Mr. B story. I don't think so. If Adnan had confessed to him, or he had a smoking gun, they wouldn't keep slandering him. I didn't say he had a smoking gun, or would make a prosecution or defense case, I just said there's more to the story.

Originally a witness for the prosecution. Why were they interested in calling him? To establish how Adnan got the phone? Maybe. That probably is how the investigation came upon him. But if that was it it seems like he might've just testified to that, no muss, no fuss. But there's a lot of muss and fuss between him getting a lawyer, agreeing to let the lawyer then represent Adnan, having the State try to block said lawyer, being listed as a prosecution witness and then arrested around the first trial. And now a huge falling out with the family. All over ownership of an AT&T account that the prosecution could've tied to Adnan easily through testimony of people who called him on the number (Krista, Jay, Yaser)?

[Apparently] retaliated against by the prosecution -for what? The grand jury had to be postponed once or twice because of the "Muslim communities failure to cooperate." Guessing that means they lawyered up and were being unhelpful. Any evidence the entire Muslim community was retaliated against, or just Mr. B? Was the prosecution offering to not charge him in exchange for testimony, and then when he [hypothetically] refused to testify, they charged him? If so, why would the family be upset with him? Something else?

Didn't testify, and now out of favor with the family. For not testifying? Something else? Probably came to believe Adnan is guilty. After the conviction, a lot of mosque support for Adnan went away. Mr. B. could have helped dissuade people from continuing to support Adnan. Maybe. It sounds like the overall community kind of stopped supporting Adnan after the conviction (with notable exceptions). So why is Mr. B singled out? Why would he [possibly] lead the charge against Adnan?

Was he on CG's alibi notice? The one she sent in early October? Before the first trial? Yes. A lot of mosque members on that list, as well as people from school. Interesting that only the Dad ended up testifying. Not one mosque person on that list testified.
It's interesting he was listed as a potential witness by both but testified for neither.

The memo suggests Adan's original lawyer, Chris Flohr, was the source of the info on Mr. B's charges being dropped. Did he represent Mr. B? Still working on Adnan's case? Don't think Flohr ever represented Mr. B. I don't know this, that's why I'm asking. If not representing Bilal, was Flohr still assisting Adnan's defense right before trial? If so, he seems like a decent witness to call re: the Asia/alibi witness issue.

CG rep'd Mr. B for some time. What transpired? Mr. B recommended CG to the Rahman's. He had to sign a waiver of attorney client privilege saying that if he was ever called to testify, he couldn't say that he wouldn't answer because CG was also his attorney. Sure. I saw that. I assume there's more to the story than just a waiver after the representation ended.

Why did the state attempt to have her disqualified? They wanted a less formidable opponent. She won a lot of cases, and there was a reason she was so expensive. *Maybe. I'd prefer to read the actual motion containing the State''s proffered reason and the defense response before I conclude it was based on an ulterior motive. Because if CG was disqualified, she might have to return the retainer, and then the family could hire somebody else equally as expensive. So it might be just to mess up the defense in general, but I'm not convinced it was specifically to avoid the great CG. *
