It was a huge relief when significant other's dog passed away.

I don't live with dogs but my friend had an old chihuahua that passed away a long time ago. Kinda was in the period where I was between my severe childhood fear of dogs and current day mainly just not being a fan of them for various reasons along with some psychological leftovers from back in the day (I probably fall on the lesser side of feelings about dogs here, but obviously I felt strongly enough to contribute).

The chihuahua was pretty okay partly since he was older, then later in 2018 my friend surprised me with his new puppy that looks most like a terrier. Definitely a bit torn since he has some bad behavior like too much barking, playful biting and admittedly my friend reinforcing some of it, but it's not every three seconds, plus I try discouraging some of the behavior which works for me at least.

What DID really push me is the dog my friend took in last year from a family member. She looks most like French bulldog from what I can tell and has almost every bad trait in the book: being destructive, impulsive turd-consumption, really invasive, loud barking along with the horrible sloppy noises. She also indirectly killed off one of the cats by chasing him around when he was just trying to eat, which stressed him to the point of not eating enough and starving to death. Also the terrier and her will butt heads a lot with back-and-forth barking which is MISERABLE. I don't know how old she is, but I am not going to miss that dog, I'm sorry.
