Human trafficking rates in Halifax above national average

Yet none of these sources are from you know...law enforcement.

Pointing to artifacts of racism doesn't really prove your point. We have a system in place to determine the legitimacy of gang claims, and so far that process has not identified a NPF gang, even after being investigated many times.

The first link (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/police-target-nova-scotia-pimping-ring-in-ontario-1.658748) is from 2007 and mentions that RCMP was creating a task force. They did and it turned up no evidence of NFP gang, at least in relation to sex trafficking.

The second link is from 2008, very close to your first link. This is during the establishment of the task force, so no actual evidence was discovered yet.

The review of the book in the next link, "Invisible Chains" is not peer reviewed and gives little evidence of the presence of NPF -- it operates on the assumption that the gang exists and goes from there.

This link: https://globalnews.ca/video/1270880/ns-rcmp-investigating-possible-connection-to-north-prestons-finest states that the RCMP are investigating the connection between two criminals as belonging to the same gang. This article was in 2014, the investigation has concluded and the RCMP did not report on any gang activity related to this case.

The interview you have linked: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/day6/north-preston-s-finest-sex-trafficking-from-halifax-to-toronto-1.2895944 Was actually redacted. This is why this article is archived, even though it is fairly recent (2017). It was redacted because the evidence presented in the interview could not be substantiated.

More recent articles from the CBC (2017 - 2018) actual retract mentions of NPF, as they are not sure that the organisation exists and should not report on them given the knowledge they have. See the correction on this article: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/edward-downey-simmonds-taliyah-marsman-colin-paris-calgary-missing-girl-1.3228586

News is important to staying informed, but news is not a reliable soruce for identifying underground gangs, especially news reports that consist of, "Well people think this thing to be true....". Not one of the links you presented has any tangible evidence mentioned. All of it is just talking to people who think NFP exists. We need actual investigation, and so far all investigation into NFP has turned up very little actual evidence of an organised gang. Maybe we need more investigation, but it is dangerous to assume something like this is true, as it may prevent the police from actually discovering the roots of sex trafficking that we want to eliminate.
