Well, I get where you’re coming from. The threshold of evil actions and motivations in humans is strong. Truly selfless acts are few if any. But the way I see it you don’t have to be selfless to be good. You can be good for selfish reasons. Like when I talk to people on here it’s purely to fulfill my selfish need to not feel alone in my suicidal thoughts and terrible life. But does that mean that nothing I’ve said was good? I try not to offer empty platitudes, hell I usually don’t even try to convince people not to kill themselves but I like to think my words have at least given some people some comfort, which was a good thing. I saw a guy give a homeless man 100 bucks. He did it to make himself feel better. Does that mean the money was worth nothing? I don’t know the answer to that, but in my mind, humans might be innately selfish but can do good things for others. Just my perspective
