Hundreds march in downtown Ottawa calling for governments to act on climate change

Boooo we have more important things to worry about. Stop trying to take away my meat.

Good luck protecting that meat when climate change tanks agricultural production—our modern meat consumption is driven by the availability of dirt-cheap staple crops so we can feed animals for years before we cut pieces off them to eat. If worldwide crop yields drop, the meat industry will be the first to collapse, their costs will rise to the point that they'll run out of people able to buy at the price they can afford to sell. If they can't afford grain, they'll have to abandon the methods of mass farming that have driven costs down or require exponentially more land for grazing.
