it hurts

Fortnite is a terrible game, that's one reason we hate it and why most adults who has played games for many many many years are playing other games and why fortnite is 80% kids under age of 15. Just all hype hype hype, in fact the 1 generation above suffered the same hype including myself with league of legends. We look back now, the state and balance of the game was awful, but because it's flashy, cartoonish, new genre, and a lot of hype was built around it, it gained a lot in popularity with the younger generation.

Fortnite does get constant updates. Updates we do not want. They constantly introduce new mechanics to the game which always recieved negative feedback and it gets removed in later patches. And they know most their audience are kids so they go down the cheap route of introducing something new, and making it overpowered and all these kids gets super excited meanwhile everyone else is like "wtf is this overpowered crap"

As great and interesting building is, there's a reason why no other battle royale games introduced building in their games (besides chinese rip offs) Because it creates many problems. I can write you a 10 page essay on just a few of the problems and balance issue building can cause in a game. I mean, look at the pro scene, all they do is hide in the end game and whoever has the most health packs when the final circle comes in wins. Shotguns were overpowered before because long range combat is non existent with building and now it's nerfed to the ground that people only use it to shoot once then switch to ar or SMG for close combat. Fortnite constantly introduce new things to destroy buildings which then creates an unbalance in other aspect of the game which cause them to buff weapons which ultimately results to buffing buildings, and we're back to new mechanics introduced to the game to destroy buildings and repeat. Or vice versa with nerfing.

"perfect game" it's far far far from it. Bad patches and balances that hides behind new weapons/utilities. Server is crap and desyncs frequently, Epic Games also has a bad reputation.

And you're right, fortnite would not be getting the hate that it has had it not been the community. Let me tell you an irl story. I was playing Slay the Spire at work and a group of kids (10-12 yo) came up and was watching me for a good 10min. And they started shouting "this game sucks, play fortnite" "fortnite is the best game" "do you have fortnite?" etc.... And that story basically sums up the fortnite community. And that basically sums up the fortnite community. The hate for fortnite didn't come from the game itself, but from it's audience.
