Hurts to look at

I like how everyone on Reddit immediately thinks she's done something harmful or dangerous, when all she's done is force the vape out of her tear ducts. This in itself isn't harmful, all you have to do is pinch the end of your nose and try and blow out really hard. Air will force it's not way into the nasolacrimal duct and out the tear ducts, where usually tears are wicked away from the eyeball and sent to your nose.

So, the discussion is whether vape smoke can cause damage to the eye, no matter how it gets there. As far as I know, propylene glycol in such tiny amounts (remember, this is vaporised, so we're probably talking on the order of micrograms) can't cause any damage to your eye. Also, we're fairly certain it isn't a carcinogen, so those comments talking about ocular cancer aren't really based on anything.

If her vape contains nicotine, then I'm not certain what the risks are. Again, the actual amount of nicotine would be tiny here but I don't know if it can still damage the eye.

Also, we don't know if vaping even causes any health issues at all. The tech hasn't been around long enough to form conclusions. As far as we know the biggest risk of vaping could be the build up of liquid in the lungs, which obviously doesn't apply to her stunt here.

But Reddit loves to call all sorts of things "cringe", and vaping is one of them, so that's probably why everyone is calling her stupid etc.
