This happened to me to me too, but it was my wife and she was (unfortunately) not in touch with it until later in life.

I too was surprised by the outpouring of love and support she received from friends we had, even those I had before I met her. They didn’t even text to see how I was doing.

That being said, I took a role supportive role and presented an outward appearance of wishing her the best. It was the only way to make the experience positive in the eyes of our kids, which was the only thing that mattered to me in the end.

Your husband sounds like a lousy father, but with so much to hide he probably hasn’t been himself these past 14 years. As he grows into his new found sense of self, I hope it opens his heart to his children.
