Husband wants to get a home equity loan but i feel nervous going that route - are there better options for our situation?

So i found out from him his debt alone will not allow us to qualify for a loan. He has a 15k credit card he maxed out without telling me and then a couple of misc cards he was too embarrassed to tell me how much he owned on them Mine isn't as bad as his though and is at 6.5k between 3 cards from medical expenses from last year, and one from lowes. And im definitely gonna check this Dave guy out.

I am also going to make him cancel these cards when wr eventually pay them off. I dont want this happening again.

And my grandma cant watch her other than the occasional day here and there. Shes working on her own house at the moment. Which is what makes this situation suck so much. His parents aren't able to help either bevause his parents work, and his mom has osteoporosis. I considered doing uber eats and the sort. Or something more lucrative if i have to.

Right now, we basically really only spend what we have to. Grocery trips are usually about $120 every two weeks. We stock up on detergent and stuf Diapers usually about $30 every two weeks. We haven't gotten a light bill for this house yet, but my grandmother said ir was $40. Car payment on our cars totals to about $450, and insurance for both is about $120 a month. Our phone bill is about $250. And now we arent dealing with rent. I may have forgotten something so if i didn't mention it let me know
