Husbands are least stressed when their wives earn up to 40% of household income but they become increasingly uncomfortable as their spouse's wages rise beyond that point and are most stressed when they are entirely economically dependent on their partner

Anecdotal evidence here but...

I'm 28 and my wife is 30, she became a Group F.C for a large Pharma company and I'm a Wedding Photographer. She can earn easily twice what I do in a year and basically always has until this year.

We have a kid and I'm now a stay at home Dad part time. I only take work on the weekends, she only has to work three days a week and she's home for one of them as she took a different less important job, pretty similar to before but now I earn more.

It literally makes zero difference to my stress levels or or relationship. I cannot stress enough how little I care about who earns more. This just sounds like a closeted boomer sexism thing...
