Warning for anyone thinking about trying this, be extremely careful if the dog is asleep. My dog got along with kids extremely well, let them play with him, hug him, etc etc. One time he was sleeping and one of the toddlers tripped walking to him, and stuck arms out to brace for impact, hitting the dog fairly hard after falling, and unfortunately, the dogs only response was a bite. It was a quick nip and as soon as he had done it, he realized he was wrong, and didnt continue, but it was too late and the toddler had to be taken to the hospital for emergency care.

TL;DR: If you do this, make sure you give good supervision! Sleeping doggos have different reactions when awoken quickly.
