Why is HVAC salary lower than others?

I definitely am, that's why it's not a deal breaker.

Infact, I find it hard to believe I have much say in which industry I end up in at all. I'll pretty much take any engineering job that isn't defense or mining (and I'm even flexible on those, tbh). Whichever industry I do get into will dictate what I will need to do next. (I'm 32, so I'm planning to get to work as soon as I can)

As for what is appealing about the PE: I like the title and the ability to advertise consulting services at some point in time. I know it's pretty hokey but I've put a lot of work getting to where I am and I plan to put in a lot more. I feel the same way about the Masters. I just want to earn those things.
