Hyatt Ziva Food

I'm going to join the general dissent here. I've been to Ziva Cancun, Zilara Cancun, and Ziva Cabo in the past year, and the food was good at all of them. I would say their food is definitely a step above a basic chain restaurant like an Applebees. I can't say I've tried their buffet or room service for dinner (why would you when there are so many great restaurant options?), but they were good when we used them for breakfast. I don't see how you can make such a sweeping judgment on the basis of a one-night visit where you didn't even try any of the real restaurants.

Regarding the restaurant closures, I think it depends on the season/hotel load. We visited the Cancun resorts in March and none were ever closed for dinner as far as I could tell, but when we visited Cabo, they did have some rotating closures that they made us aware of at check-in. In any case, I don't see how them closing one restaurant per night can be worth getting into a shouting match over when there are five other restaurants open for dinner, not even including the buffet.
