I disagree with most of what you said but this especially:

This has never been true. People were suggesting unique Pokémon like Decidueye, Tapu Koko, Golisopod, and Lycanroc far more than Incineroar. Mimikyu was probably the most popular pick before it was deconfirmed. The only reason we talk about him now is because of the Vergeben leak. Most people would actually prefer a different Pokémon rep (myself included) but personally I’ve just warmed up to the idea of Incineroar. He’s fun and I’m sure Sakurai will work his magic with him.
