Hypothetical. Could a "porch pirate" sue for bodily injury if injured on your property?

You misunderstand me. You don’t have to de ice or tighten the handrails for the trespassers. The risk of icy porch is obvious. The trespasser is a dumbass for stepping on it and falling on it. Handrail? No duty to inspect if it works if nobody uses it. If you didn’t know it was broken then so be it. Those trespassers shouldn’t have been on your premise in the first place.

But maintaining your property safe (like de-icing and fixing handrails) is suggested to limit your potential liability to the invitees and licensees, legal terms for people visiting for business (mailman, etc) and social guests. Because if they get fucked by those conditions above then they can definitely sue you and hold you liable for negligence.
